album recommendation - peeping tom by peeping tom (2006)

this album has some of the coolest and most substantial(?) trip hop i've ever heard. exactly the type of trip hop i like as someone who doesn't get along too well with the repetitiveness and emptiness of a lot of other songs of the genre, but still fw the vibe. this album has noticeable alt rock/grungey influences on many tracks which makes it unique on top of everything. and let me tell you, the trip hop and rock fusion WORKS. the alt rock complements the trip hop and gives it a punch, makes it feel less like you're just letting time slip by you as you zone out and more like a mild adrenaline rush, as if you're in control, it gives you energy for thought even, if this makes sense to anyone but me. this is prime getting high and chilling music.
every song on this album is fire and i'd say there's no skips, but if i had to pick my favorites it'd be:
- five seconds - probably one of the most upbeat songs on the album, shit's stuck in my head
- caipirinha - love the beat drops
- don't even trip - pretty chill and chaotic at the same time
- how u feelin - groovy
- your neighborhood spaceman - PEAK classic trip hop kind of reminds me of mono
honestly tho just play the whole album the producers did not miss ONCE it was really hard to leave songs out
